As a US citizen is my investment in properties abroad protected in any way by international law or is it solely on the local laws where the property is at?
I am sorry to inform you that you are on your own with foreign properties. You will need to work within the local laws of the nations you choose to invest in. It is ever so important for you to look into the laws and also historical activities of the government in respect to upholding property ownership rights.
