Tableless Website???

Would it be better to make website table less? Has anyone ever developed website completely table less?

And, what's the purpose of making a site table less?

I think he is talking about HTML tables. I know some of the dynamic scripts used today build sites by the forementioned method but I myself do not have enough experience to know whether this provides a benefit or hindrence.
