People are leaving Detroit. It is really that simple. Those people with families must leave to find jobs. Those people retiring will go somewhere warm. Look at the census. Detroit's population has gone down in the past 10 years.

You sitll have not explained to me how Detroit's economy is going to come back around. Who cares how cheap you buy the property if it continues to loose value. The only way Detroit real estate can possible resemble a good investment is if the area revamps their economy. This has to occur at the city and county level. The auto industry will be pretty much gone very soon. How are they going to fill the void.
