What is the best real estate investments for the next 10 years? Medical Facilities...malls...low income apartments...retirement homes?
What struggling corporation would you buy now? What commodities will be in the highest demand in the future?

Some of the richest people here in Texas are buying lots of 100 or more single family homes from the banks. A bank is a prime example of a distressed seller.
I would say that impatient care medical facilities are the best real estate investment class for the next 20 years. I say this because the upside is very high concidering that the baby boomers are the largest class of Americans and they are needing more and more impatient care. And this trend will only continue. The downside is low because impatient care treatment is something you have to have not something you can ignore or cut out of our budget.
I would select from REITs since they have been overly battered. Focusing on those that do not own hotels and have ver little exposure to mortgage backed securities. Another group that I think would be a good group are financials. I doubt that the U.S. will let anymore big banks fail unless we move towards a depression and I believe that inflation will handle our troubles. I would pick the largest banks that the Federal Reserve and Treasury have had purchase those banks that have failed. As I believe that the U.S. government will assure that they survive.
Of course oil! At least for the next ten years. Natural gas is another great commodity that I believe will become used in more and more places in the country for heating. I say this because heating oil will get to expensive and that will make it profitable to run larger pipelines to the Northeast. Any of the manufacturing metals are a good move. Just remember that this class is a better option over the short term than it is over the long term. As you never know which new deposits will be found that can all of a sudden flood the market.
